He gets arrested.

TMZ is reporting that Odom was arrested early Friday morning at 3:54 AM after he was seen driving too slow on the freeway (50 MPH) and appeared to have trouble controlling his car. It certainly doesn't help his case when he drove past three exits before stopping either.
He apparently failed whatever sobriety tests he was given. When police asked if he'd submit to a chemical test at the station he refused.
The man's money--or more his wife's money--will likely keep him out of serious trouble, but the ream damage will be done to his image. Anyone that matters to his hopes of playing basketball again knows not to take any of the rumors in the media about drug use or anything else too seriously. Getting arrested for driving under the influence of something will lend a little credibility to the rumors.
And no team wants to sign a player with a drug issue.
