North Carolina Tackle Takes Cheap Shot at Jadeveon Clowney's Ankle

Jadeveon Clowny, the first pure defensive player considered to have a real shot at winning the Heisman, didn't put on a Heisman type performance Thursday night against North Carolina, but if you ask him I'll bet he'll say what mattered was the win--and he would be right.

What was troubling was the fact that he looked gassed during much of the game, but afterwards we were able to find out why. As it turns out, Clowney has been battling a stomach virus since Wednesday night. If you've had one you're likely surprised that he was even on the field. Those sucker are no joke!

His Heisman hopes can easily recover from this game, but what will be more troubling to South Carolina fans will be the health of his ankle. He'll recover from the stomach bug, but getting his ankle rolled up by UNC tackle Kiaro Holts might be another matter altogether. I haven't seen anything to indicate the team is concerned at all, but this certainly looks like it hurt.
