TCU Puts Big 12 Teams on Notice with Strong Showing Against LSU

It may seem kind of strange to say, but even though the scoreboard favored LSU in the end TCU gained more from the game.

When your team starts the season ranked in the top 25 good things are expected of you. With a No. 20 preseason ranking there are indeed expectations for the TCU Horned Frogs. What better way to show you are up for the challenge than to take on one of the toughest teams in the nation, the LSU Tigers?

TCU went into the game thinking they were capable of pulling off the upset—as they should. In spite of some of the personnel losses the team had suffered in recent weeks they were still fielding a top-notch group.

Returning quarterback Casey Pachall had only lost two games in his career (17 starts). When he is not in the game the team had Trevone Boykin—who played well last season in place of Pachall-- to fall back on. Tack on one of the best defenses in the country and TCU had every reason to think it could beat the Tigers....
