According to ESPN's John Clayton, as of Tuesday the team will be able to go after 15 percent of his signing bonus ($900K) and for every day after that another one percent ($60K). When you combine that with the $30K/day that will amount to $1.08 million he'll owe the team.
That is, assuming he doesn't show up on Tuesday.
Things could get really expensive for him the longer he waits. He could lose as much as 25 percent of his signing bonus. Each missed preseason game will cost him $312,500. By time the regular season starts his holdout could cost him over $4 million.
So far the team has not waivered in their refusal to negotiate--and they don't have to. He has two years left on his contract and absolutely no grounds to force the Seahawks to do anything.
Yeah, you could say they need their running back, but if they give in the precedent that will be set is a nasty one.
