J.J. Watt Turning in to a Gridiron Version of Braveheart (minus war with the English)?

J.J Watt has become the living, breathing football version of Braveheart's William Wallace. Not in the sense that he is uniting the masses to fight against the evil British Empire while wearing a skirt, but that with each passing day and game the man's legend continues to grow.

People that were at Thursday night's epic game against the Indianapolis Colts will certainly be telling the story of that game for years to come (okay--maybe just days).

The general consensus among the so-called experts was that the game was going to come down to who played better, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck or Watt. Luck certainly had a pretty good day in his own right with his fourth 300+ yard day and fifth in six games this season.

So if Luck had such a great day that must mean Watt sucked, right? Not at all. The man, like Luck, was legendary.

Defensive lineman are not known for creating stat lines; more for creating so much havoc everyone else does. Watt is a rare exception to that. Last night's was pretty sweet:

Okay so he scored a touchdown and had a pretty good night overall. What's so legendary about that?

Well--there is this:

He still has 10 games to play too. There is also this:

He may also be the only player in the history of the game to record a fumble return for a touchdown, return an interception for a touchdown, and catch a touchdown pass in the same season.

Four have had a receiving touchdown and a pick-6 in the same season (Billy Stacy (1961), Erich Barnes (1961), Charley Warner (1965), and Mike Vrabel (2005)) and Stacy has accomplished the feet during his career, but no one has had all three in the same season (not that I could find at least; so if you know of someone share your info in the comment section please).

Earlier this season the Texans joked about letting him throw and it would not be unusual for a defensive lineman to get some goal line work in on offense so who knows what could be next for Watt.

Good thing is we have 10 more games (dare we say playoffs??????) to find out.

As for his legend--who knows, maybe by time the season is done we will see him consume quarterbacks and offensive lineman by the hundreds, shoot fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his arse.
