The Demolition of Candlestick Park Has Begun! [PHOTOs]

From what I've been able to see online and during games it looks like the new home of the San Francisco 49ers, Levi's Stadium, is pretty sweet. However, the only thing bad thing about building nice, new stadiums is that the old one that the team has played in for many years becomes obsolete. Eventually it is going to have to be destroyed.

Such is the case with the 49ers old home, Candlestick Park. The demolition process has begun and will take about three months to do it. It will not be imploded like stadiums often are.

There was too much concern over clouds of asbestos being created. So instead it will be destroyed by heavy machinery with pieces being sprayed down with water to minimize the creation of dust.

It's always sad to see the good ones go and Candlestick was one of the best.
