Dallas Cowboys Should Try To Acquire One More Seattle Running Back--Marshawn Lynch

It is too late this season to trade for anyone, and right now it wouldn't do any good to trade for Marshawn Lynch anyway since he is definitely out for at least a couple more weeks. However, should Thomas Rawls continue to dominate the competition like he has been the writing is going to be on the wall.

The Seahawks will not need Lynch anymore so they will certainly not want to pay him what he is worth. So it would only make sense that they trade him.

Should they indeed put Lynch on the trade block, the first team that should contact the Seahawks should be the Cowboys. If Jerry Jones has learned that you can't just plug and play anyone behind the Dallas line he will likely make an offer.

To be fair, Darren McFadden has had his moments this season, but he is definitely not the running back of the future for the Cowboys. The offensive line is solid and will help make any running back look better than he is, but McFadden has proven that the team could still use a quality back to make the most out of the offensive line.

So that means the team will need to draft a running back or acquire one through free agency or trade. Melvin Gordon and Ameer Abdullah showed that you can't necessarily trust a stud college running back to get the job done in his rookie season.

There are some interesting free agents that may be worth pursuing, but there is no guarantee that they will be able to sign Doug Martin, Matt Forte, Ronnie Hillman, Chris Johnson, or Chris Ivory for a price they are willing to pay.

Any of those guys could be a good fit, but if Jerry wants to make the most out of Tony Romo's golden years he will go after someone like Marshawn Lynch. Yeah, they'll have to pay him more than what they were willing to pay DeMarco Murray. Yeah, there is an injury risk with him, but the reward could be pretty darn nice.

As for the trade--make the picks conditional on the number of games he plays in. They should also include some kind of protection in case Lynch decides to up and retire within the next couple years.

For this to even be a possibility Thomas Rawls may need to have a couple more game like he had last week.  That will be easier said than done with the Seahawks having Seattle and Pittsburgh up next that may be easier said than done.

Should he get to play against Cleveland and Baltimore the two weeks after that....
