Indiana Wins Big Ten Outright for First Time in 20 Years

For the Hoosiers to win they would need to play like the team that was picked at the start of the season as the No. 1 squad in the nation. They had to be the team that everyone thought they were (right Dennis Green?).

On Sunday against the Wolverines they were just that and more beating No. 7 Michigan in Ann Arbor 72-71.

It was the big man, Cody Zeller, earning his stripes and reminding voters why he should be the Player of the Year with a solid performance (25 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block). When it mattered most he turned it on making the go-ahead lay-up with 13 ticks on the clock and some stellar defense on Trey Burke to seal the win.

The Hoosiers already cut down the nets at home following last Tuesday's home finale, a loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes. A win then would have given the Hoosiers the title outright, but with the loss they were still guaranteed at least a share of the title.

Now they can go home secure with the knowledge that the title is all theirs!
