Marshall Henderson is the Anti-Hero's Hero

The "It" player in college basketball is not someone you would call to speak to kids. He is not necessarily a role model for class, dignity, character, and all the other values that our pee wee coaches tell us that sports can teach us.

But he is playing some heads up basketball right now....just not in this picture...

He is brash. He is in your face. He talks trash when there is no need for it. Why? Because he can. He has no respect for his elders as as evident when he talked trash about the other coaches in the SEC, and he doesn't care whether you like him or not.

Because if you don't there are plenty of people that do.

Friday's Ole Miss opener against Wisconsin didn't start out the best for him; in fact it more or less stunk (1 for 11--not good). In the end though he came through for his team (19 points--17 in the second half--with four rebounds, one assists, and a steal) helping them notch an improbable victory over No. 5 Wisconsin, 57-46.

His performance was good enough to inspire LeBron James to give him a shout out via Twitter.

To which he replied:
So all he needed was a shout out from  LeBron to make it? Talk about your low standards...

Hey, it's good that the man does not need much to be happy; or maybe he doesn't see the need for validation. I don't know, but if he isn't careful his fifteen mintes of fame could be gon before you know it. Brash trash talkers are entertaining and can captivate people as long as they are wining. As soon as Ole Miss loses he wil quickly be forgotten  (until next season).

Their next oppoenent is not going to make it easy. They too have knocked off a Goliath. No. 13 LaSalle knocked off No. 4 Kansas State 63-61. Like Ole Miss, they too have a landshark.
