Fans expected an epic bout between these two. What they did get was a heck of fight--just not exactly what was expected.

Diaz never had a chance. GSP pretty much controlled the fight from beginning to end winning the decision pretty easily with all three judges scoring the fight 50-45 in favor of the champ.
From what I've been able to gather GSP came out striking hard in the first round, but then eased up as the fight went on satisfied with taking Diaz down at will and using his wrestling skills to control the fight.
It must have been a pretty harsh wake-up call for Diaz. Following the fight he talked about possibly retiring. At 29 he would be a bit on the young side to hang it up; maybe it was just Diaz being down about getting dominated. He even went as far as to apologize to his hometown.
We'll find out in the days to come if he is serious or not.
If a highlight reel becomes available I'll post it, but till then enjoy some of the pre-fight action!
[Here is the weigh in. Diaz gets into GSP's space just a little bit!]
[The press conference were awesome. I thought Dana was going to slap the reporter!]
