Todd Frazier Promises a Home Run--and Delivers!

This will be one of if not the best home run of the season--and yes, I am saying that with a 145 or so games left for all 30 MLB teams. In Thursday night's contest against the Miami Marlins, Todd Frazier--the Cincinnati Reds third baseman-- did something that you don't see many people do. He promised the team's batboy, Ted Kremer, a home run.



Big deal right? Well when you consider that in his 184 career games Frazier has only hit 30 home runs it kind of is. There is no real reason to believe that he probably would hit a home run when he stepped up to the plate.

 Even if he was a power hitter that is the kind of promise that is pretty hard to keep. Maybe Barry Bonds during his record breaking year could have gotten away with it; possibly Mark McGwire or Sammy Sosa during their chase.

So why do it? Because Teddy is a special kid. He has Downs Syndrome. Not that doing something like this for any kid is not any less noble, but for a kid with Downs Sydrome it is just a little bit sweeter.

Just look at the picture and tell me you don't agree.
