Senator Harry Reid Takes Classless, Unnecessary Shot at USC Football Team

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid gave folks that are already leery about the government another reason not to like it at all. As if it wasn't bad enough that the men and women voted into Congress can't get their act together--and find a common ground with President Obama--this jack*** took what would have been a highlight for a young college student and turned it into something unpleasant and negative.

While at the Center for American Progress Monday Senator Reid was taking some questions from students.
When one young man identified his school as USC Senator Reid thought it was necessary to interject and be rude rather than set a proper example of class and decorum:

In case you didn't feel like watching the clip when the student identified his school as USC Senator Reid cut him off and said: "I hope you have a better football team than last year, that was a disaster."

Why would you do something like that? Here you have a young person that is actually interested enough in social issues and politics to show up to a place where the "cool" kids definitely do not hang out, gather up the courage to ask a major political figure a question, and you insult his school?

Classless Senator Reid. Totally classless. It doesn't matter that the Trojans were a disappointment last season after being a preseason No. 1 to a 6-7 finish. That was not the place to make a comment like that, and certainly did not show the kind of integrity that the citizens of the country deserve to have in their politicians.

Of course it didn't end with just that. The senator followed up his first comment with,"That proves you can't buy college football players."

Again, another pointless and unnecessary dig against a student's school that was there to talk about anything other than football.

It was a very poor and disappointing showing for the Senate Majority Leader. He owes that student an apology for sinking so low.
