While at the Center for American Progress Monday Senator Reid was taking some questions from students.
When one young man identified his school as USC Senator Reid thought it was necessary to interject and be rude rather than set a proper example of class and decorum:
Why would you do something like that? Here you have a young person that is actually interested enough in social issues and politics to show up to a place where the "cool" kids definitely do not hang out, gather up the courage to ask a major political figure a question, and you insult his school?
Classless Senator Reid. Totally classless. It doesn't matter that the Trojans were a disappointment last season after being a preseason No. 1 to a 6-7 finish. That was not the place to make a comment like that, and certainly did not show the kind of integrity that the citizens of the country deserve to have in their politicians.
Of course it didn't end with just that. The senator followed up his first comment with,"That proves you can't buy college football players."
Again, another pointless and unnecessary dig against a student's school that was there to talk about anything other than football.
It was a very poor and disappointing showing for the Senate Majority Leader. He owes that student an apology for sinking so low.
