Dodgers Use the Long Ball to Get Past the Cardinals in Game 5 of the NLCS

It was do or die for the Dodgers in Game 5 of the NLCS after falling behind 3-1 after Tuesday night's loss. Rather than see the season come to an end the team opted 'to do' instead of die beating the Cardinals 6-4 to close the series gap to 3-2.

Zach Greinke did his best to quiet the Cardinals bats scattering six hits over seven inning and only allowing two runs. On the offensive side it was the long ball to the rescue with the team hitting four home runs, a solo shot by Adrian Gonzalez in the 3rd and 8th, another by Carl Crawford in the 5th, and one from A.J. Ellis in the 7th.

St. Louis tried to make a comeback in the ninth inning and managed to score two only to see the attempt fall short when Adron Chambers struck out.

The series will move back to St. Louis for Game 6 on Friday.

It looks like Yasiel Puig and Adrian Gonzalez kept their celebration a little more subdued afterhis second home run in the 8th inning.
