C.J. Brown Leads the Way to a Much Needed Maryland Win

The Maryland Terrapins had gotten off to a strong start this season winning four in a row before dropping four of its next five. With the season winding down and conference title hopes shot there is one thing still left to play for (besides pride)--a bowl game.

Thanks to C.J. Brown Maryland is now eligible after beating the Virginia Tech Hokies in overtime (27-24).

Tech scored first, but the Terrapins responded with 21 unanswered points to take a 21-7 lead early in the second half. The Hokies answered with 14 unanswered of their own to tie the game up and eventually send it to overtime.

That is when the defense and C.J. Brown took over.

After holding Virginia Tech to a field goal it was Maryland's turn. It didn't take long for Brown to get the team in position to score. In the end he took it over himself from three yards out (see above) to secure the win.

With the three-yard carry Brown ended the day with 122 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns on the ground. The win gave the Terrapins six wins on the season making them bowl eligible.
