Toledo Offensive Lineman Helps Running Back Get First Down!

Wednesday night the Toledo Rockets had the unenviable task of trying to slow down the most under-appreciated Heisman candidate in the game--Northern Illinois QB Jordan Lynch. To just expect the defense to do so would be unrealistic; they needed the offense to pitch in as well.  Lynch can't score if he doesn't have the ball.

That was easier said than done, but no one will ever be able to say the Rockets didn't try.

David Fluellen was going to go down short of the first so one of his offensive linemen, Greg Mancz, was able to help him out and practically throw him over the line.

Oh--and while they were able to slow Lynch done in the first half (a little) they couldn't stop him. On the night he ran for 168 yards (and three touchdowns) and passed for another 202 yards en route to a 35-17 win for the Huskies and a fourth consecutive trip the MAC championship.
