Dallas Cowboys Need to Bring Back Jimmy Johnson

The notion of enticing the 70-year old former coach out of retirement is crazy, but it might be the only way we can get rid of the Curse of Mediocrity.

For a brief moment it looked like the Dallas Cowboys were going to do it. They were going to overcome the demons; win a key game in December. They were going to overcome the obstacles this time, win when it mattered, and return to the playoffs as division champs.

But wait—this is the Dallas Cowboys we are talking about here.

Kyle Orton had a chance to overcome the December Demons for the Cowboys, but instead he succumbed to them just like everyone else in a Dallas uniform since Jerry Jones took over.

Interception. It’s almost as if the team is cursed—and maybe they are.

When Jones took over the team he angered the masses greatly by firing the only head coach the franchise had ever known. The move was wildly unpopular, but in the end it proved to be genius. The man he hired guided the team back to the playoffs in three seasons and the Super Bowl—which they won—in four.

I’m talking about Jimmy Johnson of course....
