Jerry Jones and Johnny Manziel Would Be a Match Made in Gridiron Heaven

He's one of the most exciting football players to grace the college game in some time. He's the stubborn owner that is dying to prove to the world that he knows the game of football--but wants to make a mint in the process (by any means necessary). You could almost say that Johnny Manziel and Jerry Jones are a match made in gridiron heaven.

And if he is available there is a good chance that Jones might take the Texas A&M improve artist.

According to ESPN's Ed Werder the Cowboys would take Manziel if he is still available when it is their turn to pick someone at No. 16.

The move would make sense in one way--money. Jones will make an absolute mint in merchandise alone. Manziel Cowboys jerseys will sell faster than they can be made. The team's one and only home preseason game (the last one) will probably be the hottest ticket in town just because it will be the only time Manziel will play.

Should Jones actually do it he would might as well sign on with Hard Knocks for the next three years. Tony Romo--the most analyzed and criticized QB in the game (righteously so)--is getting paid a fortune over the next five years. Every time he does something wrong--throws an interception, misses a receiver, or fails to elude a pass rusher--the football loving world will call for his head.

And for Johnny Manziel to be inserted in to the starting role.

The potential drama and chaos having the two QBs on the same roster will cause could rip the team a part--but it would make tremendous television. With Jones' business acumen he will figure out how to get a premium price to put his team on the popular show.

We are talking about a Tim Tebow/Denver Broncos type of fiasco here.

Of course when it comes to proof there is none. Werder talks about Jones raving about Manziel in front of Romo--but so what? Another analyst says a scout told him it would happen--but again, so what?

Jerry Jones is in an enviable position right now. While there is a chance that Manziel could drop out of the top five the possibility of him going outside of the top ten is next to none. So he could say he would keep one of Texas's favorite sons in state because he knows he will never have to make the call on draft day.

But if he did have to and he did make the call...I wonder what they get for Romo as trade bait? (lol)
