Browns WR Nate Burleson: I'm Going to Get Fined When We Play Detroit

Ever since the advent of free agency the NFL has largely become a league of nomads. Yes, plenty of players do stick with teams for the long haul, but many don't. As a result it is not unheard of for players to hold grudges against their former teams.

So is that the case with Cleveland Browns wide receiver Nate Burleson (formerly of the Detroit Lions?

@lucasbonini
With a comment he made at a Detroit-area charity softball game over the weekend it sounded like it when he started to talk about how he was going to celebrate when he scores on his former team during the Lions/Browns preseason game this year:

"Man, I'm wracking my brain figuring out what celebration I'm going to do -- because I'm going to get a fine," Burleson said. "I'm going to get a fine, period. I'm going to go to my coach and say, 'Hey, I'm going to get a fine. I'm going to do something crazy.'

Sounds like he has a little angst, huh? Actually--he doesn't:

"It's going to be a little bit of an appreciation celebration to the fans and the city of Detroit...."

Well isn't that special? It's good to see he understands that the business side of things---but it doesn't mean he has to like it:

"...But it's also going to be a poke in the back, saying, 'You should have kept me because I'm still balling.'"

Hopefully the injury prone veteran will be healthy come August 9 when the two teams open preseason play.
