Prior to Kevin Sumlin coming to College Station Texas A&M fans had enjoyed having a good team; not great, just good. It hadn’t blown the socks of the competition since the R.C. Slocum Era, but at least the team didn’t suck.
After stumbling through the Big 12 in Mike Sherman’s final year the need for new blood was clear. With a move to the SEC on the horizon it needed to be someone special and unique; someone that could turn the program around and allow it to compete in the toughest conference in the college football.
Enter then-Houston Cougar’s head coach Kevin Sumlin.....
