Kevin Ward Jr. Passes Away After Being Hit By Tony Stewart During Race

Saturday night was not a good night for race fans and especially the family of a young driver, Kevin Ward Jr. During a race at the Canandaigua Motorsports Park his car was tapped by Tony Stewart, the 20-year old Ward spun out and wrecked, and when he got out of his car to yell at Stewart on his next pass he was struck by Stewart's car.

Ward has since passed away due to the injuries he suffered from the accident.

Videos of the accident were on YouTube for awhile, but most that I saw have been taken down by the user presumably out of respect for the family. I got to watch a few before they went down and all I can say is it was pretty disturbing to see someone get killed like that.

Now I did find one at the time of posting that has yet to be taken down, but something like that is a little too messed up for me to post here. However, if this kind of thing is something you want to see DeadSpin has a video of it.
