WATCH: Houston Texans Rookie RB Alfred Blue Banging Out Some Tough Yards Against the Broncos

If former LSU running back Alfred Blue had bee drafted by a team like the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round there is a chance he wouldn't even make the squad. Nothing against him, but when the team has an established starter that rarely misses a down let alone a game there just isn't as much of a need.

However, on a team like the Houston Texans with a superstar starting running back that is incredibly injury prone opportunity is only a play away.

With Foster not playing during the preseason this year guys like Blue have been given more of a chance to show what he can do. Blue has had to share the ball a lot with the platoon the Texans have in camp, but he's been making the most of his time by showcasing his ability to get the tough yards.

He certainly did so against a very good Denver Broncos defense Saturday night:

With what he has shown so far it will be surprising if he ends up being cut, but if he does it will not be long before someone else picks him up.
