Penn State's James Franklin Testifies in Rape Trial for Former Vanderbilt Players Via Skype [VIDEO]

Back when the rumors began to circulate that James Franklin was thinking of leaving Vanderbilt for Penn State there were some that speculated his departure had something to do with the rape case involving for of his former players. Penn State officials say they did an incredible thorough job of vetting him so if that was the case they must have known.

But did they know that he lied to his players about seeing a tape of the incident?

While giving testimony via skype for the trial Franklin admitted to lying to his players about seeing the tape because he wanted he didn't want to possibly water-down the message. He wanted to make sure they understood how serious the situation was.

This was just a small part of his testimony, but it has generated the most interest online. Why lie? How does seeing or not seeing the tape affect the severity of the message? His logic doesn't exactly make sense which will likely cause some of the conspiracy theorists to starrt crying foul again.

You can see his testimony in its entirety here:
