Rich Rodriguez Claims People Sabotaged Football Program While He Was At Michigan

For Rich Rodriguez life is good right now. He's 5-0, his team just beat Oregon, and as far as the fans in Arizona are concerned he will not be going anywhere anytime soon. He has to know this too, which may explain why he was not concerned about burning a bridge or two with some recent comments about his time at Michigan.

According to Rodriguezthere were people that tried to sabotage the program during his tenure.

Here is what he had to say (via ESPN and DetroitNews):
"We still thought, with all the B.S. that was going on, all the things that were happening — it looked like some people were trying to sabotage their own program that were working for the university — all that stuff we went through, we still thought we'd be OK by the time we went to Year 4 or 5, that we were going to have a chance to compete for championships. But guess what? We didn't get to Year 4, we didn't get to Year 5. That was the most frustrating part about it."
To hear that there was 'BS' is not surprising. When it comes to major college athletics programs politics exist just like any other job, but at a whole different level considering the public nature of the programs. So having to play politician at times has to be frustrating--especially if things don't always go your way.

As for the sabotage claim--folks at Michigan can't be too happy to hear him say that. Even though he is gone and is never coming back (probably, but you never know) it adds to the list of negative things in the media about the program.

If there is anything Michigan doesn't need right now it's negative press.
