PHOTO: Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr Chilling With Ice Cube During Pregame

One of the cool things about being a 20-23 year old rookie in the NFL is that all of a sudden some of the icons of  the entertainment industry want to be your bud. While you've been looking up to them or star struck at the idea of meeting them your whole life the role is suddenly reversed. Now they are making use of their celebrity to get five minutes of face time with you.

For example, prior to the Raiders-Cardinals game Sunday actor/rapper/all-around bad-*ss Ice Cube wanted spotted chatting up his team's quarterback.

On one hand you have to think Carr should have his eyes on the prize and be focused on the game, but it's Ice Cube. Back in high school he was probably working out to some of Ice Cube's songs. How can he say no?

As it tuns out he should have. Carr might have become too cool during his brief interlude with Ice Cube; ice cold even (yes, I crack myself up). He ended up going 16-28 for just 173 yards and no touchdowns in a 24-13 loss to the Cardinals.
