Over the last couple of season the volume level at Arrowhead Stadium has become legendary. The fans even own the official
Guinness World Record for loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium with 142.2 dbA set September 29 during the first quarter of a 41-14 win over the New England Patriots.
But has it always been that way? It kind of seems like it has just been the last couple of years that its been talked about.

The answer to that is yes. It has always been that way. In fact, it was so loud once back during a 1990 game that the officials threatened to dock the home team a timeout if the fans didn't settle down (you can hear the call towards the end of the clip):
