DeMarco Murray Apologizes to Dallas Cowboys Fans

Running back DeMarco Murray was a large part of the success the Dallas Cowboys enjoyed last season. Being a contract year he was due for a large pay day after leading the NFL in rushing with 1845 yards. The only problem was the Cowboys did not have the room or desire to pay him what he wanted--but the Philadelphia Eagles did.

So he took it, and that made many Dallas Cowboys fans mad.

Since the announcement was made several videos have popped up online of angry Dallas fans burning Murray's jersey. Murray had talked like he might be willing to give the team a home town discount, but the Eagles simply made an offer he couldn't refuse (5-year, $42 million with $21 million guaranteed).

Appreciative of his time with the team, Murray tried his best to go out with grace and class. During the press conference he even apologized to the fans that felt hurt by his departure:
“I don’t take it personal [the jersey burnings],” he said. “I’m sure their feelings are hurt. I apologize for that. I’m ready to move on and I’m glad to be a part of this organization.”
For Dallas fans it sucks, but they have to understand that the NFL is a business for the guys that put on the pads and abuse their bodies for the sake of the game. They have to make the most of their time in the game and make what they can.

Yes, they may not need it all, but there is nothing wrong with making sure your kids never have to want for anything in their lives either.

So--good luck to you DeMarco. No apology necessary, but it is appreciated.
