Frank Gore to the Philadelphia Eagles?

When world spread that the Philadelphia Eagles were trading away running back LeSean McCoy the football loving free-world wondered what the heck the Eagles were going to do for a running back. The team had enough questions in the backfield already with doubts about whether Nick Foles is the man of the future, but now they have a huge hole at running back.

Well--it appears that they may have found a pretty talented guy to fill it, San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore.

Gore is set to become a free agent when the free agency period starts on Tuesday. Publicly the 49ers have said they want him back, but this came after Gore made statements to the media that he wanted to be somewhere he was wanted. Rumor has it the Eagles do.

NJ.com is reporting that a source has told them the Eagles are interested in Gore and he is just as interested in them:
The mutual interest is so serious that it is possible a deal could get done as early as Tuesday, the first day free agents can sign with another team.
If that is indeed the case it would shore up a pretty big hole in the Eagles offense that the McCoy trade created. The only problem is that rumor has it he wants $4 million a year, and it is not clear whether the Eagles are willing to pay that much (even though they have the cap room).
