Carl Esparza went in to her fight with Joanna Jędrzejczyk hoping to extend her winning streak to six and walk away with her title belt slung over her shoulder, but it was not meant to be. To do so she couldn't stand toe to toe with Joanna and needed to get her on the mat. She couldn't take her down and ended up having to go toe to toe way too much. In the end she was simply outclassed and out fought.
