WATCH: Cardinals 3B Matt Carpenter Dives Over Red's Catcher Brayan Pena to Tag Home Plate

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter is off to a pretty solid start this season hitting .378 with a 1.061 OPS. His Cardinals are off to a solid start as well with a 6-3 record after notching a 6-11 win against the Cincinnati Reds. He did his part to help with that win with a pair of hits, and a couple of runs.

One came on a pretty acrobatic play when Reds catcher Brayan Pena appeared to have the ball trapped, but couldn't get control of it giving Carpenter an opening. Rather than try to run threw him Carpenter dove over him instead.
