Marshall Faulk is a Real Big Fan of San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon

Ever since the end of the Ladanian Tomlinson Era the San Diego Chargers have struggled to find a consistent and productive running game. The team is hoping that they may finally have one after drafting former Wisconsin stud Melvin Gordon. Of course they thought Ryan Mathews would fill that role and they were wrong about him.

Gordon will no doubt get every opportunity to prove himself, and according to Marshall Faulk that should not be a problem.

In a local San Diego-area radio interview Faulk had plenty of good things to say about Gordon:
“His work ethic is impeccable,” Faulk said about Gordon. “And you will love what you see in him when you watch him play football. His passion and desire to be one of the greats -- if not the greatest -- is going to show immediately when you watch him play.”
Faulk was honest in his assessment of Gordon and talked about what he needs to work on too--his blocking:
“Every running back coming in has to work on their blocking,” Faulk said. “You just don’t get asked to do it in college enough, in that you’re skilled enough to where the quarterback is fine -- they’re fine with you blocking the [defensive] end man on the line of scrimmage or stepping up into the ‘A’ gap between the center and guard and ‘bam,' stoning a linebacker.
San Diego fans are likely already pretty happy about their first round draft pick, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have a Hall of Fame running back sing his praises too.
