Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs Was Called For One Of The Stupidest Penalties Ever Sunday [VIDEO]

Being a ref is hard. Even in the NFL where there are so many on the field it is a challenge to see everything that needs to be seen so a proper call can be made. In spite of that, we expect these humans to be inhuman---perfect; something they can never be. As frustrating as it can be for fans, it is what it is.

It would sure help the level of fan frustration if they could at least get the easy calls right, and let the guys play when they should. That certainly didn't happen when Stefon Diggs was hit with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for spinning the ball.

Adrian Peterson ran the ball in for a touchdown later in the drive so it ended up being a no harm, no foul situation. That doesn't mean it wasn't absolutely ridiculous that he was flagged for this:

  1. Taunting, spun it at the opposing player. Good call. Why spin it after a 12 yard gain? Hand it to Ref, good back to huddle. Act like you've been there.

    1. No need to spin after a first down, but I don't think he intended to spin it at the player on the ground. If that was the logic the ref used I can see it.

    2. Agree Travis. Love Diggs' passion but he's quite cocky for a rookie and his antics will hurt more than help. Just play well, the accolades will come.

  2. RIDICULOUS! It was obvious that he intended no disrespect to any opposing player -- he was just celebrating his own play. He is in no way "cocky" whether for a rookie or not.

    1. Disagree. Anytime he makes a catch he "celebrates" too much. Again, I'm a lifelong Vikings fan and i love his skills. I just think he needs to make plays and head back to the huddle. In this case spinning the ball at the other play cost us yardage.

  3. Stop anything that will cause you a penalty. Just play ball and celebrate the win. GO VIKES.
